Our family dentistry services include the following:

Regularly visiting your dentist is important for yours and your children's' oral health. We will check your teeth for cavities, tartar or plaque build up on your teeth and evaluate your overall oral health and ensure that future visits are scheduled to treat any issues. We then will check your gums to measure how much space is between your teeth and the gums themselves. During your cleaning we use special tools that remove any tartar build up around your teeth. We will then polish your teeth to help remove any surface stains from them. After this we will then floss your teeth to ensure that the spaces between your teeth are sparklingly clean.

Unfortunately a visual exam does not show your dentist all of the problems they may need to know about. X-Rays allow us to see in between and inside your teeth, including the roots and bones underneath your gums. With the use of X-Rays we are able to check for any cavities that may not be visible to our naked eyes and the extent of tooth decay you may have.

If you've had a cavity, chances are you've had a filling. What is a filling exactly? Simply put, dental fillings are used to the fill the area where your dentist has removed the decayed portion of a tooth where a cavity once was. Fillings can also be used to repair cracked or broken teeth or even teeth that have been worn down from teeth grinding and other misuse.

Sometimes our teeth may need to be extracted. Whether it is due to having impacted wisdom teeth, a tooth that has become infected or your dentist is preparing your overcrowded mouth for orthodontia, it is a scary thing to think about. You will be given an anesthetic to numb the area to help prevent pain while the extraction is performed. If your tooth is impacted the gum and bone tissue that covers the tooth itself will be cut away to give the dentist enough leverage to rock the tooth out from the root. Your dentist will reassure you through every step of the extraction process, making sure you are comfortable the entire time.

Crowns are used for a number of reasons, to protect a weak tooth from fracture, cover a dental implant, correct a poorly shaped or discolored tooth, to replace large fillings where there is not enough natural tooth remaining, and are also used when a tooth has had a root canal. Bridges are cemented to the natural surrounding teeth and are used to help replace one or more missing teeth, helping to prevent the remaining teeth from rotating or shifting into the empty space where a tooth has been removed.

Dentures are a removable device that replaces missing teeth and help to restore your beautiful smile. Whether you've lost a good portion and need a partial denture or all of your natural teeth and need complete dentures, dentures could be a good option for you. When we lose our natural teeth, it causes the skin in our cheeks to sag, promoting premature cheek muscle deterioration that makes us look older. Dentures replace your missing teeth for both functional and aesthetic purposes, you'll still be able to enjoy eating the foods you love, in addition to looking younger.
